NEED TO KNOW

We've put together a list of questions that will provide you with some further information. If there is anything else you wish to know then please drop us an email or telephone for a chat.

Is it a private venue?

Yes, the only event that will be happening at The Barn on your wedding day is your wedding! In fact, it’s yours from Wednesday to Sunday midday minimum, so there’s plenty of time to decorate!

How many people does the barn hold?

The barn seats 120-130 for a wedding breakfast, depending on the type of event, and up to 160 in the evening.

What is included in the barn hire?

(*Until 5pm Sunday as a minimum, but we would hope to give you more time if we do not have another event happening shortly after.

Can I bring in my own caterers or cater the wedding myself?

We really enjoy catering weddings and are really proud of our reputation for fantastic food, therefore we are sorry but we do not allow outside caterers to use the facilities. However if there is a particular kind of food we can’t provide and someone with a great little van can, we will do our best to get them along!

What kind of food do you supply?

We do everything from gorgeous canapés and hog roasts to sit-down, four-course wedding breakfasts, to freshly fried fish and chips.

In what way can I decorate the barn?

Anyway you want to! Unlike some wedding venues we have no strict rules on what you can do. We have lots of hooks/beams and lightening from which to hang all sorts of decorations. We just ask that you don’t make any new marks but, other than that, your imagination is the limit. You get from the Wednesday before your wedding to do it, so anything really is possible!

Do you have any accommodation?

Yes! We have a pretty and private little annex with a roll-top bath, that is perfect for the bride and groom. It has a kitchen so you can enjoy breakfast together privately or join everyone at Willow Barn (@willowbarnnorfolk on instagram), our lovely onsite B&B which has three additional double rooms, sleeping a maximum of 7 people. There are also a couple of rooms available on a B&B basis in the main house, for anyone staying with children who would appreciate a more relaxed stay in our family home. This gives a total of up to 12 people we can accommodate on site.

Where is the nearest church?

St Andrew's Church, Stokesby is in the village. It’s a very pretty church, from which it will take you about two minutes to get back to the farm.

Do you have a PA system?

No we don’t. The acoustics in The Barn are really good and most people do not need one for speeches. If you would prefer to use one they can usually be supplied by your band.

Where are you exactly?

A great location – just on the edge the River Bure, easy from Norwich and near everything on the Norfolk Broads. Set your satnav for NR29 3DX, or use the map below to find us:

What time can the reception go on to?

Our usual finish is midnight but a later evening can be organised by prior arrangement.

Can we get married at The Barn?

Not yet! However, we have held some beautiful blessing ceremonies, both inside and outside of The Barn. There is also an abundance of churches nearby! If you are interested in a ceremony at The Barn, please register your interest in this as we can then let you know if the situation changes.

Where is your nearest railway station?

Acle.

Is there any other accommodation nearby?

Yes, there is the Norfolk Garden Rooms at the King's Arms Fleggburgh offering 7 bedrooms, and the Travelodge at Acle which is a 7 minute drive away.

Why should we chose you?

Because we will make sure your wedding day really is the most wonderful day to remember, not just for you but for your guests too. We are a family business that – along with our friendly staff – takes great pride in what it does. The venue will be exclusively yours all day and we have a fabulous backdrop (from the historic barn to mature gardens and beautiful farm land and woodland) for your photographs. Finally, we understand that budget is important and will work to fit yours.
