Need to know

We've put together a list of questions that will provide you with some further information. If there is anything else you wish to know then please drop us an email or telephone for a chat.

Yes, the only event that will be happening at The Barn on your wedding day is your wedding! In fact, it’s yours from Wednesday to Sunday midday minimum, so there’s plenty of time to decorate!

The barn seats 120-130 for a wedding breakfast, depending on the type of event, and up to 160 in the evening.

  • Exclusive use of the barn from Wednesday to Sunday*
(*Until midday, unless otherwise by arrangement – for the collection of left items, taking down decorations and clear up).
  • 12 Round tables, seating 8 people (9 at a squeeze).
  • All glassware, cutlery, linen table cloths and linen napkins for the wedding breakfast.
  • A choice of chairs! We include 96 in the hire fee. This gives you huge scope to personalise your wedding. We offer a choice of banqueting chairs with various different colour seat pads. Any additional chairs or tables needed, or if you would prefer long or larger tables, these can be hired in at cost.
  • Beautiful reception garden for your drinks reception.
  • Car parking for overnight parking.

We really enjoy catering weddings and are really proud of our reputation for fantastic food, therefore we are sorry but we do not allow outside caterers to use the facilities. However if there is a particular kind of food we can’t provide and someone with a great little van can, we will do our best to get them along!

We do everything from gorgeous canapés and hog roasts to sit-down, four-course wedding breakfasts, to freshly fried fish and chips.

Anyway you want to! Unlike some wedding venues we have no strict rules on what you can do. We have lots of hooks/beams and lightening from which to hang all sorts of decorations. We just ask that you don’t make any new marks but, other than that, your imagination is the limit. You get from the Wednesday before your wedding to do it, so anything really is possible!

Yes! We have a pretty and private little annex with a roll-top bath, that is perfect for the bride and groom. It has a kitchen so you can enjoy breakfast together privately or join everyone else in the dining room of the main house, where rooms are available on a B&B basis. We can accommodate up to 12 people in total, which makes it perfect for close family and friends.

St  Andrews Church, Stokesby is in the village. It’s a very pretty church, from which it will take you about two minutes to get back to the farm.

No we don’t. The acoustics in The Barn are really good and most people do not need one for speeches. If you would prefer to use one they can usually be supplied by your band.

A great location – just on the edge the River Bure, easy from Norwich and near everything on the Norfolk Broads. Download our map.

Our usual finish is midnight but a later evening can be organised by prior arrangement.

Not yet! However, we have held some beautiful blessing ceremonies, both inside and outside of The Barn. There is also an abundance of churches nearby! If you are interested in a ceremony at The Barn, please register your interest in this as we can then let you know if the situation changes.

Yes, there is Braid Barn, a boutique B&B that has three double bedrooms, which is within walking distance for you guests or a two-minute car journey. Alternatively, there is a Travelodge at Acle with 59 rooms, which is a seven-minute car journey away.

Because we will make sure your wedding day really is the most wonderful day to remember, not just for you but for your guests too. We are a family business that – along with our friendly staff – takes great pride in what it does. The venue will be exclusively yours all day and we have a fabulous backdrop (from the historic barn to mature gardens and beautiful farm land and woodland) for your photographs. Finally, we understand that budget is important and will work to fit yours.
